The professionalization of electronic games (e-Sports) is today a global phenomenon, although it is still little officially recognized and generally lacks adequate legislation that can protect professionals in this activity.
The majority of professionals are minors, and therefore with some immaturity at various levels. The psychosocial risks inherent to this demanding profession (still unknown) may therefore pose additional difficulties. For example, the various expanded social networks of adolescence, which contribute to healthy development, can be abruptly altered with the phenomena of expatriation or living in gaming houses.
The search for high levels of performance is typical of this activity. The state of flow, consisting of a complete adequacy of skills from the person to the task, resulting in a high state of fun, can contribute to better performance in a healthy way. Supportive relationships between colleagues can also lead to flow at work, and thus increase performance, both for the individual and the team. Thus, the general objective of the project is to systematize knowledge about the e-Sports area of activity and contribute to its healthy and sustainable professionalization.
