In this project, we aim to extend the traditional learning environment to a virtual classroom environment that will keep students connected to learn mathematics by exploring motivating mathematical tools. We want to take advantage of mobile devices to teach and learn. We want to implement an approach to teaching and learning mathematics that also accommodates game mechanics that are twofold: complexity and detail. It will have three different levels of problem complexity: initial, intermediate and advanced. On the other hand, each problem will have two levels of explanations/resolutions: detailed and concise. In this way, all students will be accommodated in a student-centered learning environment. Low-performing students who may have difficulty learning the materials covered in class can study and repeat the materials as many times as they need. Students will have access to complex problems and activities that can provide additional stimulation for higher performing students. Teachers will also be more confident in giving homework to their students. With this project we aim to provide support so that we can contribute to improving the mathematics skills of all students.
